Dear Students, Parents, Staff and Community Members:

It is a great honor to be given this opportunity to serve you as Questa Junior/Senior High School Principal for the 2016-2017 school year.  I sincerely look forward to meeting all parents and community members throughout the school year.  I would like to extend an invitation to each and every one of you to come in and introduce yourself and get to know me.  My door will always be open to all at any time and I welcome the opportunity to be of service to each of you.

The Mission of Questa Independent Schools is to "Challenge all students to accelerate their learning through rigorous instruction." In order to fulfill this Mission, all parents, school staff, community members and students must pull together to help the school district in identifying the best practices for increasing rigor in each classroom.  Although we will face obstacles throughout the school year, only through productive communication and good team work will be able to insure that "All Students Will Graduate College or Career Ready" from Questa High School.  Rest assured that as the Questa Junior/Senior High School Principal my number one priority are the students of Questa Junior/Senior High School and that they are college and career ready.

My career as an educator started off with my strong desire to teach others my native language that I love so dearly.  Being able to teach the Spanish language to young people drove my first 10 years as an educator.  As a school administrator I view myself as a servant to students, school staff, parents and the community at large.  My role as a school administrator is to be fair and consistent with all students, parents and staff members.

Once again, I look forward to meeting and working with all of you throughout the school year.  If you should need to contact me, please feel free to contact me at the high school with your ideas or concerns.

Educationally Yours,

Ray D. Maestas
